St John's Kirk Choir

Music is central to the life of St John’s Kirk, with the work of the Kirk Choir at the heart of all we do.  Leading congregational hymn- singing, contributing regular anthems and introits and providing choral support for every aspect of worship, the Choir gives inspiration to others as well as generating an invaluable spirit of belonging amongst its members, in turn strengthening the whole Kirk community.

Rehearsals take place in the church on Thursday evenings (7.30 – 9.00pm) from the beginning of September to the end of May.  Our repertoire ranges from the sixteenth century to the present day and we regularly expand this by learning new music.  During the summer there is a short rehearsal after the Sunday morning service.

If you are interested in joining you will be made very welcome, so please come along to the Sunday service and make yourself known.  Our Music Director and Organist, Howard Duthie, and Choir Director, Marjory N Watson, are always interested in meeting new singers.  Alternatively, please email hduthie@dsl.pipex.com
