St John’s – Part of the Community

St John’s Kirk has been at the heart of Perth for centuries, and we want to continue to be a place that is open, welcoming and connected to the life of our local community.

We believe that a church is not only a place to worship. It should also be a place where people can meet, find friendship, discover something new, receive support and feel that they belong.

Whether you are a regular member of our congregation, a visitor to Perth, someone who has never been inside a church before, or simply looking for a place to connect with others, you are very welcome at St John’s.

Working Together

We value our connections with organisations, charities, community groups and individuals across Perth and the surrounding area.

Through these relationships, we seek to support our local community and play our part in making Perth a caring and welcoming place for everyone.

We are particularly keen to develop new connections and opportunities to work together. If you are involved with a community organisation or group and would like to explore working with St John’s, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Supporting Others

As part of our Christian commitment to serving others, St John’s supports a range of charitable and community initiatives.

Our congregation regularly responds to opportunities to support people locally, nationally and internationally through fundraising, collections, appeals and practical help.

We are grateful to everyone who gives their time, money and skills to support these activities.

A Place to Meet

We want St John’s to be a place where people can come together.

As well as worship, the Kirk hosts and supports a variety of activities, events and occasions throughout the year. These may include talks, concerts, fundraising events, social gatherings and opportunities to meet others.

Welcoming Visitors

St John’s is a place of worship, but it is also an important part of Perth's heritage and community life.

We are delighted to welcome visitors who wish to explore the Kirk, learn about its history, enjoy its architecture and discover more about the Christian faith.

Our aim is to offer a warm welcome and an opportunity for people to pause, reflect and enjoy this special place.

As St John’s approaches its next chapter, we want to strengthen our relationship with the wider community.
