For nearly 800 years St. John's has been a significant part of town
life, always moving with the times, and with the rate of change
increasing in recent decades. Change continues today - click
here for Recent Developments - but we are first and foremost a
congregation: a family of faith. Tradition holds us and nourishes us:
it does not stifle us. In recent years, at the Service of Holy
Communion, we have rung the changes and varied the Liturgy. The Table
is open to all, including children. Poetry and experiment have
brought freshness to our worship. In their regular meetings, the members of the Kirk Session quietly perform the vital tasks of looking after the Kirk and its people. We are an ecumenical Congregation - and proud to be playing a small part in St. John's long history.
