Margaret Chilton and Marjorie Kemp designed two windows - one showing the theme of resurrection and healing (1930) and the other, Feeding the Five Thousand (1929). Marjorie Kemp did a further window in 1933, illustrating the Nativity.

James Ballantine's window of 1928 shows the Resurrection.

Louis Davis's window of 1932 shows King David, and another 1932 window by Guthrie and Wells shows Moses striking the rock to obtain water.  [illustrated]

The theme of Isobel Goudie's 1935 window is the Old Testament characters -Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, David.

The Forteviot Window

The Black Watch window

After World War II, the first window to be installed was the Black Watch Memorial Window by William Wilson.

This was unveiled by H.M.Queen Elizabeth (the late Queen Mother) in 1955.

In 1956, another window by the same artist, depicting
St. Nicholas and St. Christopher, was installed.

The most recent window was unveiled in 1975. It was gifted by Perth Town Council before changes in local government led to the demise of the Council, and highlights the long connection between the Kirk and the Council. The symbols shown -crown, keys, gate, ears of corn, fish, river - have all a dual biblical and local significance. The artist is Harvey Salvin

The clear glass screen inside the main door is the work of Helen MacDonald, a glass engraver, and was installed in 1988.
The quotation "We shall not cease from exploration" is from Little Gidding by T.S.Eliot

Our mystery window may have the Tree of Life as its theme, but we have been unable to find out anything about it. We do not know when it was installed or who designed it. Information about it would be welcome!                        Treasures - top
